BL Santhosh says party workers must stay committed beyond organisational roles
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Jammu: BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santhosh on Saturday said organisational responsibilities may change over time, but the duties, values and commitment of a dedicated party worker remain unchanged.

He was speaking at a felicitation programme organised at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, to honour Tarun Chugh for his nearly six-year tenure as J&K BJP in-charge and Ashok Koul for his 14 years of service as the party’s General Secretary (Organisation) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Santhosh said the organisation’s objectives are larger than any individual and urged party workers to continuously develop themselves while working to strengthen the party. Referring to Ashok Koul’s return to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), he said changes in responsibilities reflect organisational requirements and should not affect commitment to service.

The programme was chaired by J&K BJP president and Rajya Sabha member Sat Sharma and attended by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, BJP national office in-charge Tarun Chugh, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, MPs Jugal Kishore Sharma and Ghulam Ali Khatana, former Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, former BJP presidents Ashok Khajuria and Ravinder Raina, RSS leader Dr Vikrant Sharma and other senior party leaders.

Sat Sharma praised the contributions of Chugh and Koul, saying they played an important role in strengthening the BJP’s organisational base across Jammu and Kashmir. He said Chugh regularly visited remote areas to strengthen the party at the grassroots level, while Koul remained accessible to workers and helped expand the party’s reach.

Tarun Chugh said BJP workers in Jammu and Kashmir had faced challenges and made sacrifices for nationalist and social causes. He credited the Narendra Modi-led government with accelerating development in the Union Territory and described Koul as a key organisational figure who helped strengthen the party’s presence, including in Kashmir.

Addressing the gathering, Koul reflected on his journey in the RSS and BJP, recalling his years as a Pracharak and organisational leader. He urged party workers to remain patient, courageous and committed to self-improvement while working for organisational goals.

RSS Seh-Sanghchalak Dr Vikrant Sharma also addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of organisational values and dedication.

The event also featured addresses by Reena Kashyap, recently appointed BJP Seh-Prabhari for Jammu and Kashmir, Union Minister Jitendra Singh and several senior BJP leaders, who shared their experiences of working with Ashok Koul and highlighted his contribution to the organisation.
