SRINAGAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Sujit Kumar on Sunday reviewed the security and crime situation in Budgam district during a meeting at the District Police Headquarters, police said.
The review meeting was attended by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Central Kashmir Range, Rajiv Omparkash Pande, Senior Superintendent of Police Budgam Hariprasad K.K. and other senior district police officers.
According to a police statement, the IGP assessed the overall security scenario, crime trends, investigation of cases and ongoing police operations in the district.
He also reviewed security arrangements and measures being taken for crime prevention and maintenance of law and order.
The IGP directed officers to strengthen the security grid, enhance coordination among field units and ensure prompt action against criminal and anti-social elements, the statement said.
He also stressed the need for preventive policing and heightened vigilance to maintain peace and security in the district.
During the meeting, SSP Budgam briefed the IGP on the prevailing security and crime situation and outlined steps being taken to strengthen policing, security arrangements and public safety in the district, police said.
