Srinagar: Police in Baramulla have intensified action against illegal mining and unauthorised extraction of minor minerals, seizing a tipper and equipment allegedly used for illegal sand extraction.
According to a police statement, a tipper carrying illegally extracted sand was intercepted and seized during a night naka at Delina.
In a separate action, police also seized a motor allegedly being used for illegal sand extraction.
Police said legal proceedings have been initiated under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act and reiterated that action against illegal mining activities would continue across the district.
