SRINAGAR: Health and Medical Education Minister Sakeena Itoo on Friday distributed appointment orders to 27 newly appointed AYUSH Medical Officers, formally inducting them into government healthcare services in Jammu and Kashmir.
At a function held in Srinagar, the minister congratulated the appointees and said their induction would help strengthen healthcare delivery, particularly in rural, remote and underserved areas.
Addressing the newly recruited officers, Itoo said joining the public health system carried significant responsibility and urged them to perform their duties with professionalism, sincerity and compassion.
She stressed the importance of ensuring accessible and effective healthcare services at the grassroots level and called upon the officers to contribute towards meeting the healthcare needs of people in far-flung areas.
Highlighting the role of AYUSH systems in the healthcare sector, the minister said these services complement conventional healthcare by promoting preventive, promotive and holistic treatment approaches.
She asked the officers to use their expertise to provide quality AYUSH services and support the government’s efforts to strengthen public healthcare infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir.
The minister also emphasised coordination with health institutions and field-level functionaries to ensure effective implementation of government health programmes and delivery of services.
Expressing confidence in the new recruits, Itoo said they would play a positive role in expanding access to affordable and quality healthcare across the Union Territory.
