SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday informed the Legislative Assembly that ₹40 lakh has been earmarked under the Union Territory Capex Budget 2026-27 for completion of the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) building at Devar Lolab in Kupwara district.
Replying to a Calling Attention Motion moved by MLA Qaysar Jamshaid Lone, Health and Medical Education Minister Sakeena Itoo said the project was approved during 2020-21 under the district sector and entrusted to the Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board for execution.
She said the project was originally sanctioned at a cost of ₹1.99 crore and allotted at ₹1.41 crore, with a completion period of three financial years.
The minister informed the House that, due to the time elapsed since preparation of the original Detailed Project Report (DPR) and the increase in construction costs, the Housing Board has submitted a revised DPR amounting to ₹2.06 crore for completion of the remaining works above the ground floor level.
According to the minister, the revised DPR is currently being examined by the Chief Medical Officer, Kupwara, to ensure all required components are included so that the facility becomes fully functional after completion.
Itoo said the earmarked funds would be utilised once the revised DPR is finalised and approved.
She told the House that the department is committed to completing the remaining work on the health facility within a stipulated timeframe.
