DDC Baramulla reviews action plan for ‘Deworming Day’

BARAMULLA, AUGUST 06: In view of National Deworming Day being observed on August 10, a meeting of District Coordination Committee was held today under the chairman ship of District Development Commissioner Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash.

On the occasion, CMO briefed the DC about the action plan scheduled for deworming campaign. He said that about 405443 children in the age group of 01 to 19 years, enrolled in various schools and Anganwari centers will be given deworming tablets free of cost in the district.

Deputy Commissioner, while highlighting the significance of the programme stressed for better coordination for the overall success of the campaign. He exhorted upon educating people at grass root levels and said that other vulnerable sections should be included in the programme.

Moreover, he urged for working with more synergy and cooperation so that the objective of universal healthcare is achieved in letter and spirit. He appealed the people to bring their children to nearest health center besides Anganwari centers and educational institutions to make the programme a success.

Chief Medical officer Baramulla Dr. Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, District Immunization officer Dr Shabir Ahmad Pathan, Deputy Chief Education Officer, BMOs, Medical Officers and other concerned official were present in the meeting.

The Chief Medical further said that in the first phase starting from September 01, 2018 all Schools, Anganwadi centres, orphanages, Juvenile Homes and Madrassas shall be covered.
