Srinagar: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Tuesday launched the ‘e-Nyaya Sarathi’ web portal and mobile application, a comprehensive digital platform aimed at making legal services more accessible, transparent and citizen-friendly by providing a single gateway to legal information, judicial resources and government legal services.
The initiative, developed by the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, seeks to bring multiple legal services under one roof, enabling citizens to access essential legal information and services from anywhere at any time. Officials said the platform is designed to simplify interaction between citizens and legal institutions while promoting a more transparent and technology-driven service delivery mechanism.
Addressing the gathering, Dulloo described the launch as a significant step towards citizen-centric digital governance and said access to legal services should be simple, reliable and easily available to all sections of society.
He said the e-Nyaya Sarathi platform would help bridge the gap between citizens and legal institutions by placing critical legal resources and services directly at the fingertips of users. He observed that digital interventions can play an important role in improving accessibility and efficiency in public service delivery, particularly in sectors where citizens often face procedural complexities.
During the event, Commissioner Secretary, Law, Achal Sethi outlined the key features of the platform and said it has been designed as a one-stop solution for a wide range of legal and judicial services.
He said the portal provides access to legal aid and pro bono legal assistance, allowing citizens to seek support and guidance on legal matters. It also serves as a central repository of Acts, Rules, judgments, government notifications and other important legal documents, making legal information readily accessible to the public.
The platform includes facilities such as “Search Your Case” and “Find My Court”, enabling users to obtain information about court proceedings and identify the appropriate judicial forum. Dedicated modules have also been incorporated for women and child-related matters as well as advocate-related services.
Officials said the platform aims to make legal information and services available through an integrated framework that can be accessed without the need for repeated visits to government offices or legal institutions.
A key feature of the portal is its artificial intelligence-powered chatbot, which has been developed to assist users in navigating various services available on the platform. The chatbot is intended to respond to legal queries, guide users through procedures and help them locate relevant information in a simplified manner.
The technology-enabled assistance is expected to make access to legal information more responsive and user-friendly, particularly for citizens seeking quick guidance on legal issues and available government services.
Officials said the initiative represents an effort to modernise legal service delivery and improve public access to legal information through digital means. By integrating multiple services on a single platform, the government aims to create a more efficient and transparent system for accessing legal and judicial resources.
The e-Nyaya Sarathi portal has been made available through a dedicated website, while its mobile application can be downloaded from both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, allowing users to access services through smartphones and other digital devices.
