SRINAGAR: Several political activists from Banihal, including former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spokesperson Shahrukh Khan, joined the Apni Party on Friday during an event held at the party headquarters in Srinagar.
The new entrants were welcomed by Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari in the presence of senior party leaders.
According to the party, Khan, who had been associated with the PDP for nearly a decade and had served as one of its spokespersons, joined the Apni Party along with Syed Adil Chamalwas and Yasir Syed Chamalwas, both former PDP supporters.
Addressing the gathering, Bukhari said the joining of the new members would strengthen the party’s organisational base in Banihal and other areas of the Chenab Valley.
Apni Party Provincial Secretary Mohammad Ashraf Dar and senior leader Farooq Ahmad Khan were also present on the occasion.
