JAMMU: Three sisters from Jammu and Kashmir have qualified to represent India at the 2nd Asian Masters Swimming Championship after their performances at the 22nd National Masters Swimming Championship held in Bahadurgarh, Haryana.
The Jammu & Kashmir Swimming Association congratulated the swimmers from the Union Territory for their achievements at the national event. Association President Ramandeep Singh Soodan and General Secretary Bharat Kumar Sharma lauded the participants for their performances.
The three sisters—Babita Rani, Bindu Pathania and Kiran Jamwal—earned qualification for the Asian Masters Swimming Championship, scheduled to be held in Bengaluru from October 4 to 10.
The association described the achievement as a significant milestone for swimming in Jammu and Kashmir, with the trio securing an opportunity to compete at the international level and represent the country.
Another swimmer from J&K, Bharat Bhushan Gupta, also qualified for the continental championship.
The swimmers competed in various age categories ranging from 25 to 80 years, highlighting the growing participation of masters athletes in competitive swimming.
The association extended its best wishes to all four qualifiers and expressed hope that they would continue to bring laurels to Jammu and Kashmir and the country at the upcoming championship.
