SOPORE: Police on Wednesday inaugurated a kho-kho tournament at Gund Kareem Khan in Watergam, Rafiabad, as part of activities being organised under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2026-27.
According to officials, eight teams from different areas are participating in the tournament, which aims to provide local youth with an opportunity to compete and showcase their sporting talent.
The event is part of a series of sports activities being conducted by Sopore Police under CAP 2026-27. Earlier, police organised handball, volleyball, cricket and other kho-kho tournaments at various locations across Police District Sopore.
Police said the initiative is intended to promote sports among young people, encourage local talent and provide constructive avenues for youth engagement.
Officials added that such programmes also help strengthen interaction between police and local communities while encouraging participation in positive activities.
