RAMBAN: Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sunil Sharma on Monday said issues raised by residents of Ramban district would be taken up in the Assembly during the ongoing session.
Sharma made the remarks while meeting several public delegations in Ramban as part of the BJP’s outreach programme across Jammu and Kashmir. He was accompanied by BJP District President Neelam Langeh and other party leaders.
During the interactions, representatives from different sections of society highlighted local grievances, demands and developmental issues. Sharma assured the delegations that their concerns would be taken up with the relevant authorities and pursued for resolution.
He said the BJP would raise issues affecting the people of Ramban in the Assembly and continue to advocate for what he described as the legitimate concerns of the public.
Addressing the gathering, Sharma also criticised the National Conference-led government, alleging shortcomings in governance and claiming that the BJP would continue to oppose policies it considered detrimental to public interests.
The BJP leader said his party would continue its outreach programmes to engage with residents, understand local issues and raise them at appropriate forums.
There was no immediate response from the National Conference to Sharma’s remarks.
