PIB to take Srinagar journalists on Chennai media tour

SRINAGAR, September 12: The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Srinagar Region, is organising a week-long media tour to Chennai for a group of journalists from Srinagar as part of its media outreach programme.

The tour, scheduled from September 13 to 19, will involve a 13-member delegation comprising journalists and PIB officials.

According to officials, the delegation will visit various Central Government institutions and projects in Chennai and interact with senior officials to gain insights into their functioning and implementation of government programmes.

The delegation will be led by Field Publicity Officer, Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Anantnag, Shahid Lone, while Information Assistant, PIB Srinagar, Ifham Ul Islam, will accompany the group.

Before the departure, Director PIB Srinagar, Qazi Salman, briefed the participants on the objectives of the visit and encouraged them to make effective use of the interactions and field visits planned during the tour.

Officials said the initiative is aimed at providing journalists with first-hand exposure to major Central Government establishments and enhancing their understanding of national-level policies and their implementation on the ground.

Salman expressed hope that the tour would offer opportunities for professional engagement and a better understanding of the functioning of Central Government institutions.
