Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) has invited offline applications for allocation of four MBBS seats under the Central Pool quota for spouses and children of civilian victims of terrorism for the academic session 2026-27.
According to the notification, one seat each has been allotted at A.N. Magadh Medical College, Gaya (Bihar) and Grant Medical College, Mumbai (Maharashtra), while two seats have been earmarked at Pt. JNM Medical College, Raipur (Chhattisgarh).
Applicants must be domiciles of Jammu and Kashmir and either the spouse or child of a deceased or permanently disabled civilian victim of terrorism. Candidates must also have attained 17 years of age by December 31, 2026.
BOPEE said candidates must have qualified NEET-UG 2026 and fulfilled the eligibility criteria prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC), including the required qualifications in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English.
Selection will be based solely on NEET-UG 2026 merit. No separate examination will be conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The board clarified that submission of an application does not guarantee selection, which will be made by the concerned ministry as per prescribed norms.
Priority for allotment will be given to children whose both parents were killed in terrorist incidents, followed by children of families whose sole breadwinner was killed, and then wards of victims who suffered permanent disability or serious injuries due to terrorist violence. For the first two priority categories, the benefit is restricted to one ward per family.
Applicants are required to submit documents including domicile certificate, NEET score card, 10+2 marks certificate, date of birth certificate and category certificate, if applicable.
Additional documents include FIR, death certificate, postmortem report, an affidavit stating that no other family member has availed the benefit, and relevant certificates authenticated by the Home Department. In cases of disability, supporting medical and police verification documents are mandatory.
The last date for submission of applications in duplicate at BOPEE offices in Srinagar or Jammu is September 15, 2026, up to 4 pm.
