AWANTIPORA: Two T20 knockout cricket tournaments organised by Police in Awantipora under the Civic Action Programme 2026-27 concluded on Thursday, with local teams competing at Khrew and District Police Lines (DPL) Awantipora.
According to officials, the tournaments were inaugurated by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Awantipora and witnessed participation from teams across the police district.
At Khrew, Khrew B Team emerged as champions, defeating Khrew A Team, which finished as runners-up.
In the tournament held at DPL Awantipora, Monghama 11 Team clinched the title, while Crescent 11 Tral Team secured the runner-up position.
The winning and runner-up teams were presented trophies, mementos and sports kits during the closing ceremony. Refreshments were also provided to the participating players.
Police officials said the tournaments were organised to encourage sports activities among youth and provide them with a platform to showcase their talent while promoting teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.
