Nearly 400 local artists participate in cultural events alongside IFFJ&K 2026

Srinagar: Nearly 400 local artists are participating in a series of cultural programmes being organised across Srinagar as part of the ongoing International Film Festival Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJ&K) 2026.
The events are being organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) at several venues, including the Jhelum Riverfront at Rajbagh, Old Zero Bridge, Sher-i-Kashmir Park, Nishat Garden and the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC).
According to the organisers, the initiative aims to engage festival delegates, guests and local audiences while showcasing the cultural heritage and artistic traditions of Jammu & Kashmir alongside the film festival.
The programmes feature a range of traditional and cultural performances, offering audiences an opportunity to experience the region’s folk traditions and performing arts.
Organisers said the cultural events will continue on the closing day of the festival on September 10, with performances scheduled at designated venues from 5 pm to 7 pm.
The programmes are being held alongside the film festival, bringing together cinema, music, folk traditions and performing arts at some of Srinagar’s prominent public and cultural spaces.
