Srinagar: President of India, Droupadi Murmu has appointed Lt. Governor of Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena to discharge the functions of LG Jammu and Kashmir in addition to his own duties.
An order issued from Rashtrap said: “President of India is pleased to appoint Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, Lt. Governor of Ladakh to discharge the functions of the Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, in addition to his own duties, during the absence, on leave, of Shri Manoj Sinha, Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.”
It is pertinent to mention here that Manoj Sinha is presently in United States of America and thus Saxena will discharge his duties until he resumes his office.
Interestingly, Saxena is not operating from Lok Bhawan but from a hotel in Srinagar, sources said.
Sources further said that Saxena will be administering the oath of office to Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh on Wednesday.
