JAMMU: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday reviewed the progress of its ongoing “Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan” in Jammu and Kashmir and called for effective implementation of campaign activities at the grassroots level across the Union Territory.
The review meeting was held at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, and was attended by Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, BJP J&K General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra, Baldev Singh Bilawaria and Gopal Mahajan, who is in charge of the campaign.
According to party leaders, the meeting assessed preparations for 11 programmes being conducted under the campaign, including Aashirwad Ka Diya, Sapno Ka Bharat, Sewa Smaran, Angan Ka Milan, Kahani Badlav Ki, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Sewa Jyoti Yatra, Sewa Mera Yogdan, Rangoli Rashtriya, Sewa Setu Abhiyan and Jan Sewak Maha Kumbh—Panchayat Se Parliament.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Nirmal Singh said the campaign aimed to connect governance and public service initiatives with people across different sections of society. He stressed the need to take the campaign to villages and booth-level units.
Jugal Kishore Sharma urged party workers to expand the campaign at the grassroots level and highlighted the importance of organising blood donation camps. He said voluntary blood donation could help save lives and called for greater participation in such activities across Jammu and Kashmir.
Reviewing programme-wise preparations, Gopal Mahajan directed party functionaries to ensure effective implementation of campaign activities. He said preparations should be intensified for “Aashirwad Ka Diya” on September 17, marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, and for the “Sewa Jyoti Yatra” scheduled for October 7 across villages.
Several senior party leaders, office-bearers and representatives of BJP frontal organisations and cells also attended the meeting. The party said campaign activities would continue in the coming weeks as part of the ongoing outreach programme.
