JAMMU: The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Jammu, on Monday organised a cultural programme at Wave Mall to mark the launch of the first International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK), which was inaugurated in Srinagar earlier in the day.
The three-hour event featured folk songs, ghazals and theme-based musical performances by artists from the Culture Wing of DIPR Jammu and other performers from Jammu and Kashmir.
According to officials, the programme was organised to create public awareness about the film festival and its activities.
The event drew participation from people across different age groups and backgrounds. Organisers said the festival is expected to provide opportunities for stakeholders associated with the film and cultural sectors.
Earlier, Deputy Director Information (PR) Moksha Dogra and Deputy Director (Headquarters) Ashu Kumari reviewed arrangements at Wave Cinemas, where the Information Department is screening short films and feature films for the public as part of the festival.
Among those present were Culture Officer Rajinder Kumar Digra, Field Publicity Officer Mohit Sharma, District Information Officer Poonch Hardeep Singh Choudhary and other department officials.
