Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Bank is set to launch a major recruitment drive after its Board approved around 1,400 posts for filling through a fresh selection process, offering a significant employment opportunity for youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Managing Director and CEO Amitava Chatterjee said the approved vacancies would be advertised in the coming weeks. He said the recruitment exercise would primarily be open to candidates holding Jammu and Kashmir domicile certificates, while around 40 posts have been earmarked for eligible candidates from Ladakh.
The recruitment is expected to be one of the largest undertaken by the bank in recent years and comes amid growing demand for employment opportunities among educated youth in the Union Territory.
According to the bank, the detailed notification outlining the category-wise breakup of posts, eligibility conditions, application procedure and selection process will be issued shortly.
The announcement assumes significance given J&K Bank’s status as a premier financial institution with deep roots in the region and a long history of providing employment to local youth.
The bank management has reiterated that the recruitment process will remain focused on providing opportunities to eligible candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, while also accommodating applicants from Ladakh through a separate allocation of vacancies. (KNT)
