Srinagar: A man was reportedly killed and another injured when the army fired in Kohli area of Gool tehsil in Ramban district, sources said.
Reports quoting locals as saying that they heard gunshots at 11 pm last night.
However, the army has told the police that they came under fire at 3:45 am today, following which they opened fire, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to another.
The deceased was identified as Muhammad Shafi Gujjar. Another person injured in the incident was identified as Shakeel Ahmad. He was shifted to district hospital Ramban for treatment.
Meanwhile, police has registered an FIR against 58 RR of the army at Dharamkund police station.
