She directed officials to conduct a comprehensive assessment of healthcare requirements in the constituency and identify gaps requiring immediate attention. Emphasising patient-centric healthcare delivery, Itoo called for uninterrupted availability of essential medicines and consumables, improved diagnostic and emergency services, and proper maintenance of medical equipment.

The minister also stressed effective utilisation of available manpower and strengthening of primary and secondary healthcare facilities to reduce pressure on tertiary hospitals.

Later, Itoo e-inaugurated a dialysis unit at Community Health Centre (CHC) Surankote in Poonch district. MLA Surankote Choudhary Mohammad Akram and senior health officials were present on the occasion.

She said the new facility would provide much-needed relief to patients requiring regular dialysis by reducing the need to travel to distant hospitals for treatment. The minister added that expanding specialised healthcare services at the community level remains a key part of the government’s efforts to make quality healthcare more accessible and equitable across Jammu and Kashmir.
