Bear attack leaves two injured in Kulgam orchard

Kulgam: At least two people were injured after a bear attacked them in an orchard in Ahmadabad village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the bear attacked a group of people who were working in the orchard, injuring two of them.

He said the injured were shifted to SDH Damhal Hanjipora for treatment and are stated to be stable.

The injured were identified as Abdul Salam Teeli, a resident of Ahmadabad and Bilal Ahmad Kholi, a resident of Danipora, DH Pora.

When contacted, Syed Irshad, in-charge of the DH Pora Wildlife Control Room, told KNO that a cage has been set up to trap the bear. (KNO)
