Jammu: An alleged drug peddler was arrested along with 603 grams of suspected heroin in a well-coordinated operation with police and BSF in Samba, a Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official said on Friday.
This was the second successful operation by NCB in the Jammu region over the past three days. Earlier, one drug peddler was arrested along 438 grams of heroin near the lower Ragoora area along the banks of the Tawi River in Jammu on August 12.
Acting on specific intelligence, a spokesperson of the NCB said a coordinated high-risk narcotics operation was carried out by the officers from NCB, J&K Police and BSF in Bari Brahmana, an area known for past notorious activities, in Samba on Thursday.
During the operation, 603 grams of suspected heroin has been seized along with one motorcycle used in furtherance of the illicit activity, he said, adding that one accused, a resident of Vijaypur, has been apprehended on the spot.
