Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the Chief Minister’s Digital Internship Programme 2026 (Batch-I), a six-month paid initiative aimed at providing students with practical experience in technology and digital governance.
The programme, to be implemented by the J&K e-Governance Agency, is open to students pursuing BE/B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Science and Information Technology.
According to officials, selected interns will work on real-world GovTech projects and gain exposure to areas such as digital governance, cybersecurity and digital services. The programme will also offer structured mentorship from experts to help participants strengthen their technical skills and professional experience.
As part of the initiative, interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹10,000 during the six-month period.
The government said certificates signed by the Chief Minister will be awarded to interns, while outstanding projects will be considered for the ‘Best Intern Initiative Award’.
Officials said the programme aims to create meaningful opportunities for local youth, encourage innovation and enable young technology professionals to contribute to governance through technology-driven solutions.
