Two-year-old boy drowns in Achabal river

ANANTNAG, Aug 10: A two-year-old boy drowned in a river in the Sansooma area of Achabal in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said on Monday.

The child, identified as Abuzar, son of Ishtiyaq Ahmad of Sansooma Achabal, reportedly fell into the river, prompting a search operation by local residents.

After efforts by locals, the body was retrieved from the river and later handed over to police for completion of legal formalities, officials said. (GNS)
