JAMMU: The Information Technology Department on Thursday took possession of 23 rooms in the erstwhile Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) building behind the Civil Secretariat in Jammu to expand its operational and technical infrastructure.
Commissioner Secretary, Information Technology, Saurabh Bhagat, formally took possession of the premises in the presence of Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Anti-Corruption Bureau, Vikas Gupta, Special Secretary IT Showkat Mehmood, Additional Secretary IT Devender Singh Bhau and other departmental officials.
According to the department, the newly allotted space will serve as an IT hub, providing accommodation for officials and technical teams working across various wings. The additional infrastructure is expected to improve coordination among different units and support the department’s expanding role in digital governance and e-governance projects.
The facility will also house a Security Operations Centre (SOC) and Network Operations Centre (NOC), which will function as a central monitoring and response hub for the government’s digital infrastructure. The department said the centre will monitor networks, servers, applications and cybersecurity events, enabling timely detection of security incidents and supporting uninterrupted delivery of digital services.
In addition, the building will include a video conferencing facility equipped for virtual meetings, reviews, training programmes and inter-departmental coordination. The facility will be available to government departments on prior booking and approval.
Officials said the additional office space is expected to strengthen the department’s operational capacity and support future expansion and capacity-building initiatives.
