SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in parts of Srinagar, Pulwama, Shopian and Anantnag districts between August 8 and August 16 to facilitate maintenance of 33 kV transmission lines.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, power supply to Industrial Estate BAMK, Raja Colony, Alamgari Bazar, Lal Bazar, Hawal, IE Khrew, Wuyen, cement plants and adjoining areas will remain affected on August 9 due to the shutdown of the 33 kV GIS-BAMK line (8 am to 2 pm) and the 33 kV Pampore-SIDCO line (9 am to 1 pm).
Power supply to Arhama, Town, Bongam, Shopian, Pinjoora, Pahnoo, Kiloora, Imamsahib, Vehil, Nowgam, Reshinagri, Kachdoora, Zawoora, Kareewa, Shaadab, Manloo and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on August 9, 12 and 16 due to the shutdown of the 33 kV Kanipora-Pinjoora line.
Similarly, electricity supply to Veer, Nowbugh, Srigufwara, Kanalwan, Bewoora, Darigund, Thajiwara, Dupatyar, Nambal, Akhura, Nanil and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on August 8 because of the shutdown of the 33 kV Zirpora Tapline and 33 kV Sarnal Akhura Tapline.
In addition, power supply to Noorbagh, Safakadal, Eidgah, Saidpora, Malik Sahib, Bagwanpora, Rathpora, the Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre and adjoining areas will remain affected from 10 am to 2 pm on August 11 due to the shutdown of the 33 kV Wanganpora-Safakadal line, KPDCL said.
