During the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister said the KVIB should focus on promoting sustainable livelihoods, supporting artisans and strengthening traditional village industries. He stressed the need for transparency in implementing government schemes and ensuring their benefits reach eligible beneficiaries.

Reviewing the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP), Choudhary said the emphasis should now be on beneficiary handholding, skill development and market linkages to improve the sustainability of units established under these schemes.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Vikramjit Singh; Registrar Cooperatives; Director Industries and Commerce, Kashmir; Director General, Codes; Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, KVIB; Director, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME); and senior officers of the KVIB and Industries and Commerce Department.
