MY Bharat holds anti-drug awareness prog for youth at Pahalgam

Participants join PM’s virtual address under nationwide campaign

Anantnag: MY Bharat Anantnag on Sunday organised a youth awareness programme on “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” at the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports (JIM&WS), Pahalgam, as part of the nationwide anti-drug campaign of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Tariq Ahmad Malik attended the programme as the chief guest. Administrative Officer, JIM&WS, D.N. Raina, District Social Welfare Officer Basharat Mehmood, Deputy Director MY Bharat Anantnag Khushal Gupta, officials, volunteers and local youth were also present.

The participants joined the Prime Minister’s virtual address on the nationwide anti-drug campaign and pledged support for efforts to build a drug-free society.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Director MY Bharat Khushal Gupta urged young people to become agents of change by promoting healthy lifestyles and discouraging substance abuse. He highlighted the physical, psychological and social consequences of drug addiction and said disciplined and responsible youth were essential for achieving the vision of a developed India.

Participants also raised slogans in support of the anti-drug campaign and pledged to spread awareness against substance abuse in their communities.

According to the organisers, the programme aimed to encourage youth participation in awareness initiatives and strengthen community efforts to combat drug abuse. It concluded with participants resolving to carry forward the message of a drug-free society.
