Rajouri: Rajouri district on Sunday launched the Prime Minister’s 100-week “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan” with MY Bharat volunteers paying tribute to martyrs at the Dr Raj Kumar Thapa Memorial Museum and Library.
According to the district administration, the programme began after participants joined the Prime Minister’s virtual address inaugurating the nationwide anti-drug campaign.
The volunteers later assembled at the memorial museum, dedicated to the memory of Dr Raj Kumar Thapa and the events of Operation Sindoor, where they paid homage to martyrs and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting a drug-free society.
During the programme, the volunteers resolved to carry out awareness campaigns in educational institutions and communities and work with local stakeholders to spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
The district administration said the campaign would focus on youth engagement and community participation over the next 100 weeks to support the nationwide anti-drug initiative.
According to officials, the memorial museum, inaugurated by the Lieutenant Governor in April 2026, commemorates the sacrifice of Dr Raj Kumar Thapa and highlights the role of the Indian Armed Forces, the civil administration and the people of Rajouri during Operation Sindoor.
The administration expressed hope that launching the campaign from the memorial would inspire young people to contribute towards building a drug-free society through awareness and community service.
