SRINAGAR: Police in Shopian have solved a livestock theft case, leading to the recovery of eight stolen buffaloes and the arrest of three accused persons.
A police spokesperson said that acting on a complaint of Mohammad Bashir Baniya of Kalakot Rajouri, presently residing at Bada Nad Behak, about the theft of his eight buffaloes, police traced the persons — Umar Nazir Malik of Check Saidpora; Talib Hussain Doie of Check Chotipora; and Kadeer Hussain Barwal of Malik Check – and arrested them.
All the eight stolen buffaloes were also recovered from the possession of the accused. Further investigation is in progress.
