The accused have been identified as Mohammad Amin Bhat of Khanyar, Srinagar; Khalid Hussain Khan of Gasiyar Hawal, Srinagar; Anil Kumar Maheshwari of Jaipur, Rajasthan; and Shashank Kumar of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

Police said the case was registered following a complaint alleging that the accused induced the complainant to invest ₹15 lakh as a security deposit for the supply of cooking oil. They allegedly represented that M/s Assured Agro Food Industries was a manufacturer of cooking oil and assured delivery of stock within a week.

According to the investigation, no stock was supplied after the payment. The Crime Branch alleged that the accused acted in conspiracy to cheat the complainant on the pretext of supplying mustard oil.

Investigators said enquiries with the Registrar of Companies in Rajasthan revealed that no company by the name M/s Assured Agro Food Industries was registered. The investigation also allegedly established the involvement of Shashank Kumar, who was presented as the owner of the company.

The Crime Branch said the chargesheet has been filed before the competent court for judicial proceedings.
