Srinagar: Health and Medical Education Minister Sakeena Itoo on Tuesday visited the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, to review the treatment of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims injured in the recent road accident at Ganiwan in Ganderbal district.
According to an official statement, the Minister visited the hospital on the directions of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and met the injured pilgrims and their attendants to enquire about their condition.
Itoo also held discussions with doctors and senior hospital officials to review the medical treatment being provided to the injured. She directed the hospital administration to ensure that all patients receive specialised treatment and all necessary medical facilities for their recovery.
The Minister instructed the authorities to closely monitor the condition of each patient and ensure the round-the-clock availability of specialist doctors, medicines and other essential healthcare services.
Director SKIMS Dr Ashraf Ganie informed the Minister that all the injured pilgrims were under constant medical supervision and were receiving comprehensive treatment from specialist medical teams, the statement said.
