SRINAGAR: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch, Kashmir, has filed a charge sheet against four persons in connection with an alleged job fraud in which aspirants were reportedly duped on the false promise of employment in the Airports Authority of India.
The charge sheet was filed before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar, in connection with FIR No. 36/2018 registered under Sections 420 and 120-B of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) read with Section 66(D) of the Information Technology Act.
The accused have been identified as Mohit Sharma alias Bhardwaj of Noida, Uttar Pradesh; Mukesh Kumar, Mehmood Khan and Ram Lakhan, all residents of Delhi.
According to the Crime Branch, complaints were received from several districts of the Kashmir Valley alleging that the accused had collected lakhs of rupees from job seekers by falsely promising them jobs in the Airports Authority of India.
The agency said its investigation substantiated the allegations, following which the case was charge-sheeted before the competent court.
The matter is now pending before the court.
