SRINAGAR: The Indian Army on Saturday inaugurated upgraded infrastructure at Government Boys Middle School, Khabna, in the Uri sector of Baramulla district.
According to a Defence spokesperson, the project was executed by the Dagger Division under Chinar Corps in collaboration with the Bank of New York (BNY) and the International Association for Human Values (IAHV).
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior Army officers, representatives of the collaborating organisations, civil administration and education department officials, village elders and students.
The upgraded infrastructure includes a six-classroom academic block, a mid-day meal kitchen and two sanitation blocks.
According to the Army, the initiative is aimed at improving educational infrastructure and learning facilities for students in the border area. It said the project reflects its efforts to support community development through initiatives in education, healthcare, infrastructure and humanitarian outreach.
