Kulgam: Around 200 athletes representing 14 teams participated in a Kabaddi tournament organised under the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council’s flagship ‘My Youth My Pride’ initiative at Akhran Nawpora in Kulgam.
According to an official statement, the tournament was organised to promote sports, encourage youth participation and identify sporting talent at the grassroots level.
The event drew a large number of spectators and concluded with an emphasis on teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship and healthy competition among the participants.
The tournament was supervised by Anantnag/Kulgam Incharge Bashir Ahmed, Manager, Nilandrusu Indoor Stadium, Bijbehara, Mohd Shafi Dar, Senior Netball Coach Rubiya, Kabaddi Mentor at Khelo India Centre, Playfield Devsar, Bilkees Jan, Badminton Mentor Rabia Hameed and Karate Mentor Tajammul.
The Sports Council said the event was organised as part of its ongoing efforts under the ‘My Youth My Pride’ programme to strengthen grassroots sports and provide competitive opportunities to young athletes across Jammu and Kashmir.
