Srinagar: Police in Sopore have attached an immovable property belonging to a “notorious drug peddler” under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985, a police spokesperson informed Wednesday.
He said the attached property comprises a double-storey residential house valued at approximately ₹30 lakh, located at Behrampora, Rafiabad, and belongs to Gulzar Ahmad Zargar @ Sheeda.
The action was taken following a detailed enquiry and financial investigation, which revealed that the property had been acquired from proceeds generated through illicit narcotics trafficking. Accordingly, the property was identified as illegally acquired and attached under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, police said.
