Jammu: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday reviewed preparations for the two-day visit of its national president Nitin Nabin to Jammu on July 6 and 7.
According to a party statement, Nabin will address a party convention at Mishriwala and interact with senior party leaders, elected representatives and youth activists during his visit. He is also scheduled to pay floral tributes to Syama Prasad Mookerjee at Mishriwala on July 6 and Prem Nath Dogra at Prem Nath Dogra Chowk on July 7.
J&K BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma chaired a series of organisational meetings at the party headquarters, Convention Centre and Mishriwala to review arrangements for the visit.
The statement said Sharma reviewed venue management, reception arrangements, volunteer deployment, media coordination and public participation, and directed party functionaries to ensure smooth conduct of all programmes.
Sharma also met office-bearers of the BJP Minority Morcha, led by its president S. Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, who assured full cooperation for the visit.
A delegation of members of the Bihari community also met the BJP president and expressed a desire to felicitate Nabin during his visit, the statement said.
Describing the visit as an important organisational event, Sharma said it would further strengthen the party’s organisational base in Jammu and Kashmir and called upon party workers to ensure its successful conduct.
