ITBP chief reviews security preparedness along Amarnath Yatra routes

Srinagar: Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Shatrujeet Kapur, on Saturday undertook a 16-km trek to review security arrangements along the Baltal and Pahalgam routes of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

During the visit, Kapur assessed the security grid and operational preparedness of ITBP personnel deployed along the twin pilgrimage routes to ensure the smooth conduct of the annual yatra.

He interacted with officers and jawans stationed in the high-altitude areas and commended them for their professionalism and commitment in ensuring the safety and security of pilgrims.

The ITBP chief also reviewed force deployment, logistics and overall operational preparedness, and appreciated the personnel for performing their duties under challenging terrain and weather conditions.

The ITBP is among the security forces deployed for the annual Amarnath Yatra and is working in coordination with other agencies to provide security to pilgrims along both routes.
