  Traffic restrictions on Srinagar-Sumbal-Bandipora road for Muharram procession

Bandipora: The District Administration Bandipora has issued a traffic advisory in view of the 12th Muharram procession scheduled from Dangerpora to Shahtulpora on June 28, announcing diversions and route changes to ensure smooth movement of traffic.

As per the advisory, vehicular movement on the Srinagar-Sumbal-Bandipora road stretch will remain affected from 12:30 pm to 10 pm on Sunday. Commuters have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel on the route during the notified period.

Under the traffic plan, vehicles travelling from Srinagar towards Gurez-Bandipora will be allowed to ply via the Sopore-Bandipora-Gurez road. Similarly, traffic coming from Gurez-Bandipora towards Srinagar will be diverted at Chewa-Safapora via Ganderbal.

Traffic movement from Sumbal towards Srinagar will be diverted through Naidkhai-Hamray-Narbal-Srinagar route, while vehicles travelling from Srinagar towards Sumbal will be routed via Takanwari through Shadipora Bridge.

The Dangerpora-Shahtulpora road stretch will remain a complete No-Ply Zone during the procession.

The District Administration has appealed to commuters to cooperate with the arrangements, follow the advisory and plan their journeys accordingly to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the Muharram procession.
