Satish Sharma joins Ashura procession at Zadibal, pays tributes to Imam Hussain (AS)

SRINAGAR: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Youth Services & Sports, and Science & Technology, Satish Sharma, on Friday joined the Ashura procession at Zadibal and paid homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions.

The Minister participated in the procession along with thousands of mourners, expressing solidarity with those commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS), whose message of truth, justice, compassion and steadfastness continues to inspire generations.

Speaking on the occasion, Satish Sharma said the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) at Karbala represents timeless values of righteousness, courage and resistance against injustice. He said the teachings of Imam Hussain (AS) transcend boundaries and continue to guide humanity towards peace, harmony and justice.

The Minister also interacted with mourners and reviewed the arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of the procession. He appreciated the coordinated efforts of the district administration, police, health services, municipal authorities and volunteers in ensuring peaceful and orderly observance of Ashura.

MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, accompanied the Minister during the procession.

Satish Sharma prayed for peace, prosperity and communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir and extended his respects to all those observing Ashura, highlighting the values of sacrifice, unity and compassion associated with the occasion.
