ANANTNAG: A 10-year-old girl died after sustaining a severe neck injury while playing on the roof of her house in the Gadiseer area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Tafheeda Khursheed, daughter of Khursheed Ahmad Dar, a resident of Gadiseer, Bijbehara.
Officials said the minor suffered a critical neck injury while playing on the rooftop of her residence. She was immediately shifted by her family to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara for treatment.
However, despite efforts by doctors, she succumbed to her injuries, officials said.
The incident has left the bereaved family and local residents in shock and mourning.
Police have taken cognisance of the matter and initiated necessary proceedings.
