PULWAMA: Member of Parliament from the Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency, Agha Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, on Thursday convened a Public Darbar at Town Hall Awantipora to hear public grievances and review developmental concerns raised by residents of the area.

The public interaction witnessed participation from delegations representing various areas of Awantipora and adjoining regions, along with representatives of trade bodies, social organisations, welfare and development forums, Auqaf committees, senior citizens and other stakeholders.

During the programme, participants highlighted a range of issues and demands relating to different sectors and sought intervention for their resolution.

Addressing the gathering, Ruhullah Mehdi assured the participants that issues requiring policy-level intervention would be raised at appropriate forums, including forthcoming sessions of Parliament. He said public outreach and direct interaction with citizens are essential for understanding grassroots concerns and ensuring that developmental needs are effectively addressed.

The Member of Parliament also directed officers of the concerned departments to take prompt action on genuine grievances raised during the interaction and ensure their timely redressal.

The Public Darbar witnessed active participation from members of the public and various stakeholders. District and sectoral officers from different departments were also present on the occasion to listen to public concerns and provide necessary feedback on issues raised.
