Member of Parliament from Jammu Lok Sabha Shri Jugal Kishore Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sat Paul Sharma, MLA Shri Vikram Randhawa, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation and CEO Jammu Smart City Limited Dr Devansh Yadav, along with other senior officials, were present on the occasion.

Addressing a gathering at the project site, Tamta praised the efforts of all stakeholders involved in the development of the riverfront and described the initiative as a significant step towards transforming the urban landscape of Jammu. He noted that the project has contributed substantially to flood-control measures and possesses immense potential for further expansion.

Calling it a futuristic initiative, the Minister said the riverfront project is poised to become a landmark destination for the region. He observed that the site is already emerging as a centre of attraction for activities such as the Tawi Aarti and other planned water-based recreational initiatives.

Highlighting the Centre’s focus on strengthening infrastructure, Tamta outlined his vision for the region’s continued development through improved road connectivity. He said the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is undertaking the construction of modern roads and highways even in some of the country’s most challenging terrains, extending connectivity to remote frontier areas.

Referring to recent highway projects, the Minister said improved road infrastructure has significantly reduced travel time between Jammu and Srinagar to less than five hours, demonstrating the impact of sustained investment in connectivity.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to developing world-class infrastructure that promotes economic growth, boosts tourism and improves the quality of life for people across Jammu and Kashmir.
