Officials said the security operations are being carried out with the help of advanced surveillance and detection equipment to identify and neutralise any potential security threats ahead of the annual pilgrimage.

The anti-sabotage exercises are being supported by trained K9 squads, bomb detection teams and technical surveillance units, which are undertaking thorough sanitisation of the Yatra route and adjoining areas.

Particular focus is being laid on the inspection of vehicles, including abandoned and unattended vehicles, to prevent any possible misuse by anti-national elements.

Police said special security checks are also being conducted at railway stations, railway tracks, bridges, culverts, public utility installations and other critical infrastructure located within the district. Regular search and sanitisation drives are being undertaken to maintain a robust security environment before the commencement of the Yatra.

Officials said J&K Police is continuously reviewing and strengthening security arrangements to ensure that all safety protocols are implemented effectively.

Meanwhile, members of the public have been urged to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity, object or unattended vehicle to the nearest police establishment.

Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring a safe, secure and peaceful Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 for all pilgrims.
