MP Ghulam Ali Khatana holds public darbar in Shangus

Anantnag: Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Ghulam Ali Khatana on Monday presided over a Public Darbar-cum-Grievance Redressal Camp at Rakhi Brah in Shangus to hear public grievances and review developmental issues concerning the area.

A large number of residents, public representatives and stakeholders participated in the programme and projected various issues related to infrastructure, education, healthcare, employment, agriculture, horticulture, tourism, social welfare and other essential services.

During the interaction, participants highlighted demands concerning road connectivity, power supply, drinking water facilities, healthcare services, educational infrastructure, employment opportunities and effective implementation of government welfare schemes.

Addressing the gathering, Khatana assured the public that all genuine demands and grievances would be taken up with the concerned authorities for timely redressal. He emphasised the need for coordinated efforts among departments to ensure inclusive and people-centric development.

The MP also reviewed the status of developmental works being undertaken in the area and sought feedback from concerned officers regarding issues raised by the public. He directed officials to ensure prompt action and effective delivery of public services at the grassroots level.

Highlighting the importance of employment generation, Khatana stressed the need to engage local youth in ongoing developmental works and projects to improve livelihood opportunities and strengthen the local economy.

Several grievances were addressed on the spot during the public darbar, while directions were issued to the concerned departments for timely resolution of the remaining issues.

Among those present on the occasion were Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Vikas Ahlawat, Tehsildar Shangus, Block Development Officer Shangus and officials from various line departments.
