DC Budgam, SSP Srinagar review Amarnath Yatra arrangements at Nowgam Railway Station

Budgam: Deputy Commissioner Budgam Athar Aamir Khan and Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar Dr G V Sundeep Chakravarthy on Monday visited Nowgam Railway Station to review arrangements being put in place for the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026.

During the visit, the officers conducted a comprehensive inspection of facilities being established at the railway station for pilgrims expected to travel through the rail route during the annual pilgrimage.

The preparedness of various departments was reviewed with a focus on ensuring smooth movement, reception and facilitation of yatris arriving at the station.

The officers took stock of arrangements related to healthcare services, drinking water supply, sanitation, cleanliness, power supply, lighting and other facilities aimed at ensuring passenger convenience.

They also reviewed coordination among departments and assessed the readiness of infrastructure and support services being put in place ahead of the commencement of the Yatra.

The inspection was attended by SSP Railway Protection Force, Additional District Development Commissioner, SP West Srinagar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Area Manager Railways, Joint Director Planning Budgam, Assistant Commissioner Development Budgam, SDM Chadoora, SDPO, Tehsildar BK Pora, SHO Nowgam, Executive Engineer PDD Budgam, Station Master and officers from the police, railway and civil administration departments.
