According to officials, the proposed community hall will also house a library and dedicated shops for Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The facility is aimed at promoting community interaction, supporting livelihood generation and strengthening social support systems within the migrant camp.

The government has also approved the construction of a new office complex for the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants), Jammu. The facility is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and improve the delivery of welfare schemes and services meant for migrant families.

Officials said the total technically vetted cost of the sanctioned works stands at ₹7.05 crore and the projects will be executed under the Regular Capex Budget.

The execution of the works will be subject to the completion of all codal formalities and adherence to prescribed financial norms and administrative procedures.

The government said the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to improve infrastructure and strengthen institutional support mechanisms for displaced communities.

Reiterating its commitment to the welfare of Kashmiri migrants, the government said focused investments in infrastructure and public facilities would help improve living conditions and ensure better access to community and administrative services.
