Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, on Sunday conducted a surprise inspection of Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara to assess healthcare services, staff attendance and ongoing infrastructure development works.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected patient wards, emergency services, registration counters and other sections of the hospital. He also interacted with patients and attendants to obtain firsthand feedback regarding the quality of healthcare services being provided.
Directing the hospital administration to ensure strict punctuality and round-the-clock availability of doctors, paramedical staff and other employees, Suse said timely and efficient healthcare delivery must remain a priority. He warned that any laxity in duty attendance would be viewed seriously.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the need for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across hospital wards, corridors and surrounding premises. Officials were instructed to conduct regular cleanliness drives and ensure proper waste management.
To enhance transparency, he directed hospital authorities to prominently display duty rosters of doctors and staff members at designated locations for public information.
Taking note of public concerns regarding services in the ultrasound (USG) and laboratory sections, Suse asked the Medical Superintendent of SDH Kupwara to submit a detailed report so that corrective measures could be initiated and accountability fixed where required. He also directed the authorities to ensure the CT Scan facility becomes fully functional on priority.
While inspecting the under-construction Critical Care Block, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the executing agency to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe to strengthen and upgrade patient care facilities.
Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to improving healthcare services, Suse urged hospital staff to work with dedication and professionalism to ensure quality healthcare delivery for the people of the district.
