Director Agriculture for expediting key schemes to meet set targets

SRINAGAR, JULY 31: Director Agriculture Kashmir, Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi, today visited Baramulla to review the progress on the implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes in the agriculture sector.

The Director took a comprehensive and scheme wise review of progress on implementation of different agriculture schemes, projects in the district at a meeting of district officers.

He stressed upon the concerned officers of allied wings to work with coordination and added zeal for the all-round development of agriculture sector. He emphasized upon strengthening the public accountability and transparency besides digital expenditure of funds. He appreciated the officers for achieving the set targets of different schemes.

Later the Director agriculture held a meeting with all the DDOs to review the expenditure status under different schemes. Speaking on the occasion, he impressed upon them to enforce expenditure and physical discipline.

Andrabi said expenditure monitoring across all the schemes shall be done on real-time basis, the funds shall be spent only on the approved items on the expenditure, and strictly, for the purpose, they have been released.

Director Agriculture highlighted the need for maximizing the reach of different schemes and time-bound completion of all the ongoing programmes and projects.

Earlier, Director Agriculture met Deputy Commissioner Baramulla and had a detailed discussion on the overall agriculture scenario in the district and about the progress under aspirational district scheme being implemented in district Baramulla and Kupwara of Kashmir division.

The Director was accompanied by Chief Agriculture officer Baramulla Aijaz Ahmed Sheikh, District officer extension Peer Sharief-u-Din, District Officer inputs Ghulam Jeelani Zargar and other concerned.
